Meet our new events maestro at DoubleTree by Hilton York

That's why we're thrilled to introduce our new Groups, Conferences, and Events Manager, Jessica Dobson, who brings a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to our team.

Jessica is dedicated to creating seamless, personalised experiences for our guests, whether it’s a corporate conference, a vibrant social gathering, or an intimate celebration. With an eye for detail and a commitment to excellence, she ensures that every event is executed flawlessly, reflecting our core values of exceptional service and genuine hospitality.

We know that your events are more than just dates on a calendar—they're milestones, opportunities, and moments to cherish. At DoubleTree by Hilton York, we're not just hosting events; we're crafting experiences that leave a lasting impression.

Jess said: "I have always had an interest in hotels from a young age. At the age of 13 I asked my mum for the Hotel Babylon boxset for Christmas and as they say, the rest is history!

I started my hospitality career working in a local quite famous café, where I worked for 6 years! I then moved from here to manage a restaurant.  So that I could ensure I covered all aspects of hospitality I then moved to coffee shop. Then my career in Hotels began. I started working in the reservations team handling all incoming bedroom and outlet reservations where I then moved to events and found my passion! There is nothing I love more than the process of helping someone with their special occasion, weather that be an intimate wedding anniversary for 5 or a wedding breakfast for 500. Equally, conferences are just as important. Knowing from working in an office and how important away days and team building are.

This brings me to where I am now, helping develop the team I have at the Doubletree by Hilton York to be the best of the best in York is a target I have set myself. The location of the hotel and the space really does sell itself and make our job easy right?!

I am so excited for the next stage of my hospitality career and to be working in such a well-known, up and coming city! I can’t wait to see how far we can go as a team."
