£1M golf course transformation underway at The Abbey Hotel Golf & Spa

The Abbey Hotel Golf & Spa has officially launched a landmark £1 million transformation project, marking one of the most significant investments in the club’s history. This ambitious upgrade will completely revitalise the golf course and elevate the playing experience for members and guests alike.

Over the next 3–4 months, golfers will witness exciting developments, including installation of a state-of-the-art irrigation system, ensuring pristine playing surfaces year-round, two newly designed golf holes, offering fresh challenges and enhancing the overall course layout, and extensive upgrades across the course — all aimed at creating a modernised, first-class venue.

During construction, the course will operate with a temporary 9-hole layout, allowing play to continue uninterrupted while the newly configured 18-hole course is prepared for its grand unveiling in May 2026.
