We’re proud to share that M&T, in collaboration with Flatt Consulting, has successfully achieved a BREEAM “Excellent” score for the 332-bedroom Hampton by Hilton London Waterloo.
Vice President of Property at M&T, David Hughes states “This has been a complicated process, pulling together the works on an extension with the original building. It builds on our success with the former Yotel in Shoreditch, where we achieved a Very Good score for BREEAM In Use.”
This project presented unique challenges, translating operational hotel procedures into the language of BREEAM assessors more familiar with new build and construction professionals than with hospitality leaders. Through effective communication, visual documentation, and process adaptation, the team overcame these hurdles to deliver an ESG-relevant accreditation.
“It’s been a rewarding journey,” added Hotel General Manager Thomas Panickamuriyil. “I’m grateful to the team and our consultants for their patience and collaboration throughout - this recognition reflects our shared commitment to ESG and continuous improvement.”
A big thank you to everyone involved. This is more than a certification, it’s a testament to what collaboration and sustainability-focused thinking can achieve.
